A Seattle incubator spun out of the Allen Institute for AI, building companies around applied machine learning.
The AI2 Incubator emerged from the Allen Institute for AI and focuses on turning machine learning research into companies, often before a founding team is fully assembled.
It works closer to a studio than an accelerator: technical people join, are matched with problems and co-founders, and build from inside the organisation with research infrastructure available to them.
Companies with roots in the Allen Institute ecosystem include XNOR.ai, acquired by Apple, alongside a portfolio of applied machine learning companies in document processing, data quality, and scientific tooling.
The incubator's advantage is talent access: it sits inside one of the few non-corporate AI research institutes in the United States.
Global Capital Network connects accelerator graduates with investors ready for the next round.
