Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 4, 2026 · Applies to globalcapitalnetwork.com, GCN Investor Conferences, Private Investor Dinners, the Global Deal Flow platform, and the Featured Vendor Program
Event Data

Info you provide at registration or check-in may be shared with sponsors, exhibitors, and Featured Vendor Program partners. See Section 4.2.

Do Not Sell / Share

You can opt out of event contact-list sharing and aggregated data licensing. See Section 5.

GDF Integration

Global Deal Flow has its own Privacy Policy for platform-specific data use. See Section 4.6.

This Privacy Policy explains how Global Capital Network (“GCN,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares personal information when you visit our website, register for or attend a GCN investor conference or private investor dinner, use the Global Deal Flow platform, or participate in the Featured Vendor Program (collectively, the “Services”).

01

Overview

GCN's core purpose is connecting investors and founders — at live conferences, private dinners, and through Global Deal Flow (GDF), our digital platform. That means certain information you provide, such as your name and firm when registering for an event, is by design shared with other participants so that connection can happen. It also means GCN's event business generates revenue in part by giving sponsors, exhibitors, and Featured Vendor Program partners access to attendee information as part of their paid package. This policy explains exactly what's collected, how it's shared, with whom, and what choices you have — including how to opt out of contact-list sharing after an event.

02

Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information: name, email, phone number, password (for my.globalcapitalnetwork.com or GDF)
  • Event registration information: name, company, title, contact details, ticket type, dietary or accessibility needs
  • Investor information: investor type, accreditation self-attestation, investment focus, check size, and mandate details where provided
  • Founder & sponsor information: company details, pitch materials, sponsorship or exhibitor application details
  • Featured Vendor Program information: firm details, service category, and materials submitted for the program
  • Payment information, processed by our payment providers (we do not store full card numbers)
  • Content you submit: messages, forms, documents, and communications with our team

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data: pages viewed, searches performed, listings viewed or saved on GDF, features used
  • Device and log data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, approximate location
  • Event check-in and badge-scan data, where applicable
  • Cookies and similar technologies, described further in Section 6
03

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate our events, including registration, check-in, badge printing, and attendee communications
  • Operate GDF, including matching founders and investors and enabling messaging
  • Verify identity, accreditation, and eligibility for certain features
  • Process payments for tickets, sponsorships, and services
  • Communicate with you about your registration, account, or engagement with GCN
  • Fulfill sponsor, exhibitor, and Featured Vendor Program benefits, as described in Section 4.2
  • Improve our events and platform, including through aggregated analytics
  • Detect fraud, enforce our Terms of Service, and maintain the integrity of our network
  • Comply with legal obligations
04

How We Share Information

We share personal information in the following ways. Some of this sharing may be considered a “sale” or “share” of personal information under California law (and similar laws in other states), as noted below and in the table in Section 4.7.

4.1 With Other Members — The Core Network

GDF's fundamental purpose is to connect founders and investors. When you create a GDF profile or submit a listing, you're affirmatively choosing to make certain information visible to other members so that connection can happen — similar to a professional network showing your profile to other members. This visibility is the service itself, not a disclosure to an outside third party, and is not treated as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information.

4.2 With Event Sponsors, Exhibitors & Featured Vendor Program Partners

This is the section most relevant if you register for or attend a GCN conference or private investor dinner.

Sponsorship, exhibitor, and Featured Vendor Program packages include access to attendee contact information collected at our events — for example, badge-scan lead data at an exhibitor booth, or a post-event attendee list provided to a paying sponsor or Featured Vendor Program partner. This is a sale or sharing of personal information under California law and similar state laws, and it is the category the opt-out right in Section 5 applies to most directly.

  • Badge-scan data is only shared with the specific sponsor or exhibitor whose booth scanned your badge, and only for booths you visited
  • Post-event attendee contact lists provided to sponsors and Featured Vendor Program partners are limited to attendees who have not opted out under Section 5
  • We do not sell or share investor accreditation status, financial information, or private messages as part of this sharing

If you'd rather not have your contact information included in sponsor or Featured Vendor Program lists, see Section 5.2 for how to opt out before or after an event.

4.3 With Service Providers

We share information with vendors who help us operate our events and platform, including event registration and badge providers, payment processors, identity verification tools, email and CRM platforms, and analytics providers. These providers are contractually restricted to using the information only to provide services to us.

4.4 For Business Purposes & Aggregated Data

We may compile aggregated or de-identified data (which does not identify you) — such as attendance trends, investor type breakdowns, or industry benchmarks — for research, market insights, or data products, and may share or license this data with partners or the public, in exchange for compensation in some cases. This is a separate category of “sale” or “sharing” from Section 4.2, and is also opt-out eligible under Section 5.

4.5 Legal & Safety

We may disclose information where required by law, to respond to legal process, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of GCN, event attendees, or the public.

4.6 Global Deal Flow Integration

If you use GDF, your GDF account and platform activity are additionally governed by the Global Deal Flow Privacy Policy, which explains GDF-specific data use in more detail, including network visibility between founders and investors on that platform.

4.7 Categories of Personal Information We Disclose

We do not sell personal information to third-party advertisers or data brokers unrelated to our events and network. The sharing described above happens with event sponsors, exhibitors, and Featured Vendor Program partners as part of the business model of our events, and with vendors who help operate our Services — not with unrelated third parties for advertising purposes.

Your Privacy Rights & Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

Right to Know

Request details about the personal information we've collected, used, and shared about you.

Right to Delete

Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions.

Right to Correct

Request correction of inaccurate personal information we hold about you.

Right to Opt Out

Opt out of sponsor/vendor contact-list sharing (4.2) and aggregated data licensing (4.4).

Right to Limit

Limit our use of sensitive personal information, such as financial or accreditation data.

Right to Non-Discrimination

We won't deny you service or charge you differently solely for exercising these rights.

5.1 Scope of the Opt-Out Right

Registering for an event or creating a GDF profile means choosing to be visible to other members and event participants as part of the service itself — that core visibility isn't something you can opt out of while remaining an active participant. The opt-out right below applies specifically to (a) inclusion in post-event contact lists shared with sponsors and Featured Vendor Program partners under Section 4.2, and (b) aggregated data licensing under Section 4.4.

5.2 Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

To opt out of sponsor/vendor contact-list sharing, aggregated data licensing, or both, contact us at the email address in Section 12 with the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information,” and tell us which category (or both) you'd like to opt out of. You can also request this at event registration or check-in. We'll confirm your request and the date it takes effect — opt-outs submitted before an event apply to that event's sponsor lists; opt-outs submitted after an event apply going forward.

5.3 Global Privacy Control (GPC)

We recognize the Global Privacy Control browser signal as a valid opt-out request for California residents where technically feasible.

5.4 Authorized Agents

You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We may require verification of the agent's authority and your identity before processing the request.

5.5 How to Exercise Your Rights

Submit a request using the contact information in Section 12. We'll verify your identity before processing most requests, and will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. You may appeal a denied request by replying to our response.

06

Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security, analytics, and to remember your preferences on our website and event registration tools. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling certain cookies may affect functionality such as staying logged in or completing registration.

07

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active, for as long as needed to fulfill sponsorship, ticketing, or Featured Vendor Program obligations, to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Event attendee data shared with a sponsor or vendor under Section 4.2 is subject to that recipient's own retention practices once received, in addition to ours.

08

Data Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and access controls on sensitive data such as accreditation documentation and payment information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

09

International Users

GCN's network spans 45+ countries. If you access our Services or attend our events from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your home country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

10

Children's Privacy

Our Services are not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

11

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last Updated” date above, and where required by law, we'll provide additional notice before the changes take effect.
