A New York studio and camp programme that builds and backs companies around emerging technology themes.
Betaworks operates as a studio and thematic programme rather than a conventional accelerator. It builds companies internally and runs short, tightly themed camps around a single emerging technology at a time.
Each camp gathers a small group of companies working on the same frontier — synthetic media, voice interfaces, or AI agents, depending on the cycle — which produces a peer group with genuinely overlapping problems.
Betaworks built or incubated Giphy, Bitly, Chartbeat, and TweetDeck, a record concentrated in internet infrastructure and media tools.
Its later camps have moved toward machine learning and interface technology, keeping the same pattern of entering a category before it is broadly funded.
Global Capital Network connects accelerator graduates with investors ready for the next round.
