Overview of the United States Minor Outlying Islands
The United States Minor Outlying Islands is a statistical grouping of small US insular areas across the Pacific and Caribbean. None has a permanent civilian population.
Context
The grouping includes Baker, Howland and Jarvis Islands, Johnston Atoll, Kingman Reef, Midway Atoll, Palmyra Atoll, Wake Island and Navassa Island.
Most are designated as national wildlife refuges or marine national monuments. Wake Island retains an airfield of strategic significance, and Midway holds historic and conservation importance.
What Investors Should Note
There is no commercial market. Access to most of the islands is restricted and requires federal permission.
This page exists for directory completeness rather than as an investment market overview.
